The Head of Governance and Strategic Projects is a senior role within CST COO with responsibility to work directly with the CST CIO, Management Committee and across CST vendor partners to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the target operating model for CST.  The development of excellent governance and oversight processes for vendors as well as portfolio management and delivery review processes within CST are a core aspect of this role.  The role will also support delivery of a number of pan CST initiatives including target operating model design and governance, strategic workforce strategy initiatives, actions to enhance control and oversight as well as improving effectiveness of the function so as to address multiyear cost efficiency.  Responsibilities include:

 

• Establishment of target operating model for CST, with focus on differentiation between vendor supported activities vs. capabilities to be delivered in house.


• Definition and execution of best in class vendor governance structures.  This includes management of CST’s strategic partnership with Accenture for Production Support, as well as oversight of all key vendor delivery and vendor negotiations.  Work proactively with vendors to identify opportunities for CST to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


• Oversight of quarterly CST portfolio management processes and governance, ensuring the CIO and COO have sufficient oversight and control of milestone delivery across the CST portfolio.  Work with CST management team to ensure all known risks and issues to milestone delivery are tracked and managed.


• Supporting the COO on strategic projects and deliveries for senior management, which can include measures to strengthen BDC delivery model, strategic workforce initiatives, quarterly business reviews with Group COO.


• Driving innovation for CST; work with the COO to develop initiatives to foster innovation and support the IT productivity framework.


• Supporting ad hoc projects and deliveries, working directly with the CST CIO and COO.
  

 

You Offer

 

• Minimum 8 years of experience, ideally in a vendor management/sourcing capacity or in consulting.  Strong understanding of the vendor landscape and control models to manage vendor delivery


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to manage complex negotiations


• Experience in projects/ program delivery


• Ability to act as a leader and advocate for innovation.  Some exposure to Fintech, micro-services in technology an advantage


• Ability to engage in technical discussions with technology teams, as well as ability to convey the same concepts and issues at a high level to senior management


• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, self-motivated and deadline driven
