Personalized Healthcare (PHC) is transforming the healthcare industry with significant emphasis on data-driven, customized healthcare for the individual patient. This evolution has associated impacts to the way other parties in the healthcare ecosystem operate, including patients, their advocates, healthcare providers, governments, regulators, public and private payers.
PHC in both GPS and Product Development (PD) are driving Roche’s PHC transformation across the enterprise to meet current and future healthcare needs in this rapidly-evolving personalized healthcare environment.
A key element of the PHC strategy is to ensure PHC tools and approaches are fully incorporated into molecule lifecycle and disease area plans. The goal is to have 100% of Lifecycle Teams (LCTs) evaluate the incorporation of PHC into their plans by end of 2019. After 2019, teams will regularly update these plans based on the dynamic PHC space, and drive follow through - bringing to bear internal and external PHC capabilities to yield tangible impact.
As the Neuroscience & Rare Diseases Franchise Commercial Leader, you work with the Global PHC Lead to identify Neuroscience strategy gaps and opportunities to embed PHC. You collaborate with selected Neuroscience & Rare Diseases (NSRD) Integrated Strategy Leaders (iSLs) and iSquads to improve the value capture opportunity presented by PHC tools, especially digital tools, educate teams and effectively advise on PHC. You build, implement, and monitor efficient processes to incorporate PHC into the NSRD portfolio; including identifying efficiencies and removing barriers to ensure appropriate incentives are in place for PHC.
You forge connections to ensure relevant expertise from PHC functions, such as the PHC Strategy Team, Data Science, Advanced Analytics and others, to bring them to the appropriate NSRD teams. You also develop and maintain in-depth and current insights and needs across NSRD to be incorporated into the overall PHC strategy.
In this position, you are primarily accountable for consistently, effectively:
Acting as the primary interface to selected NSRD Lifecycle Leaders (LCLs), iSLs and iSquads
Ensuring NSRD LCTs, iSquads and other relevant partners understand and capitalize on opportunities for robust and well- integrated PHC strategies, capabilities and assets
Designing and guiding NSRD PHC integration strategies, plans, and where appropriate, tactics and budgets to achieve optimal PHC pull-through and maximize the opportunity for improved personalized patient care and access in NSRD
Developing and cultivating strong relationships with PHC partners and ecosystems partners
As needed, helping LCTs and iSquads obtain approvals and funding for NSRD PHC strategies and major initiatives
With others across PHC, identifying and communicating ways to accelerate PHC capabilities and evolution across the global Roche organization and externally, particularly regarding on-market readiness
Bringing together and communicating best practices and lessons learned to further accelerate PHC across NSRD
Ensuring MS Showcase on-market potential is maximized within the portfolio
Leading strategic workstreams as a part of the PHC NSRD strategy
Meeting or exceeding all strategic, financial and operational NSRD PHC goals and objectives
Aligning, motivating and inspiring others to deliver PHC commitments made to Pharma Leadership
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE
MBA, PhD, MD or other relevant Graduate or Post-Graduate Degree is preferred
Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries
In-depth knowledge of development and commercialization processes
Deep knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
Knowledge of technical development
In-depth knowledge of commercial budgeting and forecasting processes
In-depth knowledge of the overall commercial environment and requirements for success
Strong knowledge of the reimbursement environment
Knowledge of and past experience working with business development, alliance partners or licensing activities is preferred
Multicultural awareness
EXPERIENCE SKILLS/ABILITIES
Average of 10 – 15 years’ multidisciplinary experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry
Global experience working with international business and/or lifecycle teams
Affiliate experience is preferred
Experience in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics
Experience in digital health strongly preferred
Experience using innovative data sources including RWD for on-market success is preferred
Significant experience leading multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix team environment
Significant experience developing and leading innovative short-, medium- and long-term strategies
Consistent track record of strong internal and external relationships and influencing strategic and operational improvements and innovation
Experience in Neurosciences and/or Rare Diseases is strongly preferred
Consistent record for meeting or exceeding financial and other quantitative targets, as well as qualitative goals
Comfort with ambiguity and demonstrable abilities to learn and adapt quickly to the rapidly-evolving personalized healthcare landscape and its associated impact on the healthcare ecosystem
Strong cross-functional teaming skills: works well within cross-functional teams
Shown abilities to work effectively in a complex, matrix environment, across numerous time zones
