Kopter Group AG specializes in the development, production, commercialization and support of a new generation of helicopters. It is based in the Zurich region and currently employs 250 people. Its first model, the single turbine SH09, offers the highest standards of safety, comfort and performance, coupled with low operating costs. Additionally, it provides the largest cabin/cargo volumes, outstanding modularity and the latest generation of electronic systems. Built for the most demanding missions, the SH09 helicopter is generating an excellent market response.


Your responsibilities



  • Technical focal point for the AFCS testing and in flight tuning

  • Responsible for the AFCS activities related to requirement specification, project development and System Validation and Verification

  • Automatic Flight Control System requirement elicitation and specification 

  • Primary Flight Control System and UM (Flight Control Upper Modes) offline control law shaping and in flight fine-tuning

  •  Control law design to improve aircraft handling qualities according to ADS33 requirements 

  • Design, development and flight testing of SAR autopilot functions

  • Definition of AFCS Performance Flight Test Plan & Report

  •  Requirement elicitation and specification, using specific tools for requirement 

  • System design of autopilot control laws for basic and advanced functionality

  • Flight data analysis for problems investigation and optimization of helicopter’s dynamic and handling qualities 

  • Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) performance flight test proposal and report definition to demonstrate the compliance with normative requirements

  • AFCS performance flight test report discussion with European Aviation Safety Agency

  • Lead an Engineering Team

  • Provide technical leadership across the multi-disciplinary team


Your qualifications



  • Hold a university degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent

  • Relevant engineering experience with Automatic Flight Control System, electronic Hardware & Software qualification

  • Knowledge of aircraft integration standards and certification process

  • Good English language skills, both verbal and in writing

  • Proven Leadership and management skills

  • Good team player skills, self-driven attitude and the ability to work to fixed deadlines
