Job description


With its Simply Safe strategic phase, Baloise Group has now spent two years laying the foundation for insurance services of the future. In order to drive forward this transformation and digitalisation with the necessary speed and consistency, the existing corporate divisions are to be supplemented as of May 2019 with the newly created Group IT division.


In your future role as Team Leader, Group IT Portfolio & IT Financials, you will be jointly responsible with your team for ensuring the strategic focus of the project portfolio spanning multiple business units. You will also coordinate the Group-wide IT finances and ensure adequate transparency in this regard. You will take the lead within your discipline in a cross-border matrix organisation. You will be responsible for the selection and further development of well-qualified employees as well as for the definition and allocation of the roles required for fulfilling the mandate. You will actively contribute to various strategic committees within Group IT and foster a lively exchange with the IT managers, departments and corporate divisions within the Baloise Group.



  • Development and establishment of Group-wide, collaborative portfolio and finance management

  • Identification, definition, prioritisation and monitoring of Group projects

  • Management of Group-wide IT budget planning (consolidation, verification and standardisation)

  • Definition and measurement of internal KPIs for continuous improvement activities within the scope of your own functions as well as for measures and standards defined for the entire Group

  • Line management of employees (remuneration, promotion, assessment, workload, unpaid leave and retirement)

As Team Leader, Group IT Portfolio & IT Financials, you should also bring with you the following:



  • University degree in information technology, financial management, business/economics or equivalent practical experience

  • Long-standing and extensive IT and/or financial experience: experience in the areas of accounting/controlling and financial planning (five to ten years)

  • At least five years of practical experience in portfolio and financial management

  • Management and leadership experience in the design and standardisation of organisational structures, communication at management level and stakeholder management.

  • Experience at larger companies and in cross-border environments

  • Experience in the management and administration of virtual teams

  • Business fluency in German and English
