The Dehio Lab at the Biozentrum is searching for a highly motivated 80-100% laboratory technician. Your position
The successful applicant will join a dynamic research group studying how intracellular bacterial pathogens establish chronic infection and how this effects the response to antibiotic treatment. Main responsibilities include (i) the support of PhD students and postdocs in their research activities studying the intracellular lifecycle of the bacterial pathogen Brucella (approximately 70% of working time) and (ii) general support functions and maintenance of the lab (approximately 30% of working time). About 50% of the work will be directly linked to working under Biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) conditions. Your profile
Applicants should have a degree as "Laborant/in" or a Bachelor Degree in Biology or related topics. At least two years experience of working with techniques in microbiology, cell culture, and molecular biology is required. Experience with BSL-3 conditions is preferred but not required. The role requires diligence, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task. The applicant should enjoy working as a team member as well as independently.
