Why we are recruiting The Forum’s Editing and Design team is looking for an energetic and creative person to join a small but dynamic group of editors who ensure the quality of written content that underpins the Forum’s globally recognized brand. Within the Forum’s Public Engagement team, the mission of the Editing and Design team is to enhance the strategic value of the team within the wider institution and establish new benchmarks for excellence and efficiency across the Forum’s value streams (e.g. events, initiatives, communities, projects, centres). Reporting lines and interactions Reporting to the Head of Editing, the editor will work with colleagues in the Editing and Design team and many other teams in the organization to edit and produce content of institutional importance. Main responsibilities
Editing a wide range of institutional material, including press releases, event programmes and reports, publications and communications, managing case assignments from inception to conclusion, working with the author(s) and Design team throughout the process
Editing content daily on request, including short documents, op-eds, briefing and other materials
Providing editorial support at Forum regional and annual meetings, including producing session summaries, press releases and a report of the meeting outcomes
Helping to coordinate and meet editing needs for Forum offices outside headquarters, ensuring consistency content and style despite regional differences
Contributing to training Forum teams in house style and writing, and advising staff on how to navigate content production
Supporting the Head of Editing in setting deadlines for reports and programme guides, ensuring timely and highest-quality production per assignment
The successful candidate will be assessed on:
Delivery of documents to deadline and excellent standard
Ability to work well with the Editing and Design team and the rest of the organization, to take initiative and quickly adapt to and manage changing workload and needs
Initiative and creativity in improving work processes in tandem with the larger team
Feedback from other teams on deliverables
Preferred requirements and experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject (Communications, International Relations, English, Journalism, Translation, etc.)
4-5 years of editing experience
Broad general knowledge and interest in international, geopolitical, industry, social and technological developments
Sharp attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, style
Outstanding organizational and project management skills, able to multitask to tight deadlines and multiple teams
Team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and self-starter adept at working individually on any given task
English mother tongue, excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of French or other languages would be an asset
Proficiency in using Microsoft office suite and digital platforms; knowledge of Salesforce a bonus
Willingness to travel
