DSM Nutritional Products Site Lalden is one of the most important suppliers of intermediates for the vitamins A and E, carotenoids and aroma ingredients in DSM Nutritional Products BG. The site counts around 160 employees and is situated in the marvelous mountains of the Swiss canton Valais. At DSM Nutritional Products Site Lalden we have a vacancy for a Chemical Engineer/Process Chemist in the Improve Plant department. You will find here a highly professional and motivated team and a challenging environment.



We are open for talented and strongly results driven persons without work experience as well. The vacancy is available as per agreement, sooner starting date preferred.


 


The Position



  • Contribute to implement the continuous improvement manufacturing program in increasing capacity, efficiency, and safety of processes

  • Assure innovative chemical and technical practices are employed to accomplish best in class manufacturing

  • Identify, analyze, and solve process interruptions, disturbances and inefficiencies related to SHE, quality, yield, capacity and operation costs

  • Perform as a role model by stressing safety and quality in all duties performed

  • Prepare periodic SPC charts and analysis to optimize our processes and generate new improvement projects

  • Lead and support in MOC’s, RCA,’s Risk Assessment for chemistry related topics

  • Manage interdisciplinary project teams and small Capex projects

  • Strongly interact with SHE, Maintenance, Quality and Operations departments on site


 
The Ideal



  • At least a Master of science in Chemistry Engineering or Chemistry

  • Preferable 3-5 years’ experience in similar industries and positions or a talented recent PhD graduate

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Good interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel

  • Lean & Six Sigma certification is preferred

  • Experience with and knowledge of RCA/FMEA methodology and SHE/Risk assessment are a plus

  • Strong safety awareness and mindset to continuously improve

  • Strong communication skills in German & English
