About Gübelin Gem Lab

Gübelin operates one of the world’s most respected gemmological laboratories as a completely independent subsidiary. In its laboratories in Lucerne, Hong Kong and New York, the Gübelin Gem Lab provides analyses of diamonds, coloured gemstones and pearls, and is particularly known for its expertise in coloured gems.

For our laboratory in New York, we are looking for a

Gemmologist / Technician

100% (m/f)

Your tasks:

Performing analytical tests (UV-Vis, FT-IR, ED-XRF, Raman)

Perform microphotography on all types of gemstones

Supporting Senior Gemmologists with basic gemmological tests, microscopic analyses, and drawing inclusion plots

Support office administrator with acquisition of pictures

Support office administrator in other administrative tasks

Maintenance of the analytical instruments in the lab

Your profile:

Gemmological training (FGA, GG or similar)

Flair for advanced analytical technologies

Prior administrative experience preferred

Systematic and efficient work approach

Accuracy

Interest in gemstone photography

Ability to multitask and prioritize work

Excellent communication skills

Self-motivated, positive, solution-oriented attitude
