The Digital Marketing team at PMI Duty Free is focused on travelling customers and their needs. Employing the latest cutting edge technology, our objective is about creating a consistent and seamless consumer experience - creating unified consumer journeys, linking our online and offline Duty Free channels. Our new reduced risk product category is at the forefront of the PMI Global Duty Free Digital transformation, opening new horizons about how we can connect and serve our customers globally. We are seeking a Digital Strategy & Travel Retail e-Commerce Manager to join Philip Morris Duty Free based at our Operations Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Role This is an opportunity to design and deliver a Greenfield global Travel Retail e-commerce strategy for PMI Duty Free, adapting it and deploying it in our markets’ local business environments. This includes partnering with external operators at airports and/or developing proprietary platforms to improve PMI Duty Free’s presence and reach across global online Travel Retail e-commerce channels. You will be responsible for: Strategy: Understanding of the travel retail business environment, common business and marketing practices and the general competitive landscape. Exploring avenues to partner with global and regional operators to have PMI’s product assortment and brand content available in their e-commerce platforms. Assessing viability to develop company owned e-commerce platforms to sell PMI’s portfolio of products and deliver brand content to legal age smokers. Identify and track key performance indicators for the assessment and evaluation of e-commerce performance. Consumer Experience: Coordinating e-commerce content to be shared across proprietary and partner’s websites, taking into account PMI wide marketing campaigns and product launches. Analyzing local requirements and trends to adapt e-commerce components to local markets. Maintaining and updating local product and service catalogues as well as pricing. Ensuring consistent and accurate product and service range and information on e-commerce. Executing local promotions and campaigns. Activities & Transaction Management: Overseeing online sales activities and transactions (e.g., orders, fulfilment, payment, invoicing, returns and refunds). Updating regularly the PIM (Product Information Management) system, logistic information and OMS (Order Management System). Verifying the proper functioning of the platform (i.e., proper display of products, pricing, reviews and good handling of content Q&A). Working with local partners to allow for great on-line purchase user experience, expanding the footprint and increasing online sales. Ensuring suggested orders fit the distributors’ and retailers’ specifics. Managing B2B process exception approvals (e.g., payments terms) with Finance and address B2B e-commerce Platform requests. Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Managing data sources and web analytics. Analyzing online experience and recommending improvements to enhance customer journey and drive growth. Implementing improvement on the business related and e-commerce activities and updating best practices. Ensuring the e-commerce ecosystem of platforms is operational and drives broad adoption. Reporting insights about on-line purchasing behaviors to Management. About you Proven previous work experience in eCommerce, eBusiness, digital marketing in a cross functional environment. Business acumen and strong knowledge of online e-commerce platforms, online customer behavior, and online data trends. Understanding of trade marketing desired. Strong grasp of modern e-commerce technology. Proficiency in Order Management Systems, eCommerce, Email marketing, analytics reports of online sales. Solid experience with catalogue management, PIM (product information management) and custom pricing. Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media. Understanding of internal controls processes, governance, finance and tax. University degree in Business, Marketing, Technology or related field. Extensive commercial experience in e-commerce desired. Additional Fluent written and spoken English is essential. This is a full time role based at our offices at Lausanne, Switzerland.
