Qualified Patent Attorney (or partially qualified) both in Europe and with National Patent Office, with practical technology related IP experience. A MBA education is an asset. • 5 to 10 years' post-qualification experience in industrial practice, including significant work experience in IP management, IP acquisition, negotiation (complex multinational projects), patenting (including invention capture, claim drafting and amendment). • Experience of leading a team a plus. • Proven experience in all activities of the IP spectrum is a must: drafting, prosecuting (Understanding of patenting procedures and patents, as well as related legal work streams is a must), negotiating licenses & contracts, participation in litigations. • Successful experience of various patent databases. • Sound strategic thinker - Creative abilities and a strong commercial flair with good business acumen. Perceptible enthusiasm and drive and a strong interest in the organization. • Hands-on flexible approach to problems and demands, with the ability to thrive on challenges and react quickly and positively to a fast moving environment. • Strong experience in setting up & maintaining IP Management processes and tools. • Setting up and managing internal and external collaborations and legal frameworks. • Fluency in both written and spoken English. Presentations to Management (RRP Senior Management) for validations. • Lead the innovation capture and protection processes & resources within the RRP field while optimizing PMI's IP portfolio by identifying and closing gaps and through IP white spaces analysis. • Lead strategic operations and prioritizations of all deals related to patents and other technology-related IP of RRPs, and lead the identification of opportunities for and threats to the Company. Engage with all relevant areas of the Company (Legal, M&A, R&D, OPS, Commercial, Marketing, Corporate Affairs) to provide timely and proactive solutions to business team's needs and business development's initiatives. • Coordinate the provision of advice and services to the company, including building and maintaining the department infrastructure and capabilities and identifying how to best leverage externals - Patent Portfolio Building & Review, Competitive Intelligence, IP Management System. Work collaboratively with suppliers of IP services on a core and support basis to leverage outside expertise and optimize efficiency of Department. • In collaboration with the Head of Department, set and maintain IPM department budget and monitor performance against budget, supported by strong control and management with an eye to achieving cost savings. • Foster the image of the IPM team, and beyond that of the IP, in the Company.
