Software Engineer Big Data Platform 80% bis 100%

What you achieve

Working on the interface between infrastructure, applications and data, you build systems that handle petabytes of data, process millions of messages per second and serve thousands of jobs per day. The platform you build will integrate Swisscom's products and open the door to new, cutting-edge, data-driven products. You empower dozens of engineering teams, hundreds of co-workers and the entire company at the same time to gain new insights and dream of new possibilities.



In the big data platform team, you design, implement and operate Swisscom's big data platform. You build software that automates the management of our platform, frameworks that make our platform accessible and APIs that empower our users. All the while, you work with all the latest and greatest big data technologies and their related ecosystems – on the premises and also in the cloud. With your expertise, you also improve both the reliability and the availability of this 24/7 platform.

Why you succeed



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (Uni/ETH/UAS) in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification

  • Hands-on experience in distributed systems

  • Strong software development skills in at least one of: Java, Scala or Go

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Kafka, YARN, HDFS, Spark would be a plus

  • Additional experience in Docker, Kubernetes, IP Networking and Linux systems management is highly desirable

  • Team player with initiative, a positive attitude and a love for DevOps and agile methodology

  • Very good English, French or German a plus
