Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd. is looking for a


Design Engineer Application Software


Responsibilities



  • Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment

  • Design, develop, code, debug and test application software

  • Analyse and enhance system resources 

  • Interface with hardware design and development

  • Support and assure software quality

  • Provide post production support

  • Assure proper documentation of according established development process

  • Give technical support in discussions with stakeholders and customers


Requirements



  • BSc or MSc within automation, controls or related disciplines, focus on embedded control systems (with some years’ experience)

  • Deep knowledge best with some years’ experience in automation & controls and embedded software engineering

  • Knowledge of different communication protocols and interfaces

  • Experience in elicit requirement speciation, programming, design specification, etc.

  • Excellent knowledge of coding techniques, interfaces and hardware subsystems

  • Practical programming in C/C++, C#, .net, MATLAB/Simulink and SQL

  • Familiar with software configuration management tools

  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components

  • Strong communication, documentation and writing skills

  • Attentive to details and self-motivated

  • Knowledge in project management

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

  • Team player
