Degree in engineering (microsystems technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering) or physics
Interest in automation, hardware, software and databases as well as their integration into complex production systems
Programming skills in a high-level language (e.g. Python, C++) with flair for data analysis
Experience in testing, calibration and measurement technology an advantage
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will develop state-of-the-art testing and calibration processes and move the latest generation of sensors from the prototype stage in the laboratory into mass production. Your future colleague, Lukas (Process Engineer), describes his day-to-day work below.
What are the specific tasks?
As part of the process development team, I am responsible for developing new calibration and testing equipment for assessing environmental sensors and bringing them into production. I am the central interface between the various technology groups and am in touch with nearly all departments. I also deal with system and database analyses, program my own evaluation tools and sometimes even take the screwdriver into my own hands.
What are the daily challenges?
I have the exciting task of enabling the production of innovative sensors. In addition to being precise, the sensors must be cost-effective and capable of mass production. An interdisciplinary understanding of all the relationships involved is essential in order to be able to unite these various requirements. This means that my day-to-day work is highly varied, and I can learn something new every day.
