To support our Tournaments and Events Division, FIFA is looking to recruit an experienced and analytical
Head of Competition Management
Your duties


  • Managing the Competition Management department and establishing an appropriate operational and reporting structure and effective workflow processes

  • Ensuring consistency across the Competitions Division for all competition management related matters such as competition requirements; policies and regulations; match operations; general coordinators and match commissioners, draws, match schedules, competition and team equipment and procurement and contract management

  • Reviewing and making recommendations to improve the requirements and regulations of all relevant Competitions

  • Actively collaborating with internal and external partners, sharing responsibility with the other divisions for the overall results and proactively finding compromises, efficiency measures and synergies with other divisions

  • Ensuring that the agreed project plans are implemented according to the set milestones and business plans

  • Overseeing and integrating the project plans (where relevant) in order to ensure the requirements of all relevant stakeholders are aligned

  • Implementing the general administration, reporting, knowledge management and debriefing processes to ensure knowledge transfer and the maintenance or improvement of quality for future competitions

Our requirements


  • Minimum of eight+ years of proven experience in football event management / competition related matters. FIFA event organisation and World Cup experience highly preferred

  • Proven experience in leading a team of direct subordinates in a multicultural international environment

  • Fluent in English (oral and written). Additional language proficiency, notably German, French and Spanish, preferred

  • Strong knowledge of business management and sports event management as well as experience in budgeting and controlling

  • Ability to effectively monitor organisational performance and implement decisive corrective actions

  • Capacity to make key decisions for the business through critical problem-solving skills and an ability to use sound judgement

  • Ability to handle ever changing/ dynamic situations (flexibility/ endurance)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)

  • Strong analytical skills and good planning and organisational skills

  • Acting as FIFA Ambassador at FIFA Events and passion for delivering global football events

  • Willingness to live in Switzerland and to travel based on business requirements
