Purpose
As Senior Marketing Manager, you will define and implement the European marketing strategy and plan for the Medical Oncology segment within Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS). This new role will further develop the position of BD MDS in the fields of drug preparation, administration and vascular access care, developing and driving customer relevant solutions and programs across target audiences and channels in Medical Oncology. You will report to our Senior Marketing Director of MDS Europe.
You will manage brand and solutions development in the region based on the World Wide strategies and European opportunities. You will be responsible for ensuring the right balance of focus and investment to both drive market development and share of category. In addition, you will manage the day-to-day regional & global interactions to successfully achieve the goals for the portfolio and solutions offering.
The Medical Oncology priority covers multiple product platforms, including our Hazardous drugs safety and IV access and administration for Oncology drugs portfolio and works closely with other business units to drive the Oncology offer across BD Europe. The position has two direct reports and the support of other functions within MDS and the Center of Excellence for Marketing Communications. This high profile role leads significant growth in MDS with a strong pipeline of new product launches and solutions delivery.
The success of the Medical Oncology segment requires close collaboration across product platforms and functions at European level, with the country teams to implement marketing strategies and programs at a local country level as well as working with the World Wide Platforms in MPS. Effective communication, engagement and collaboration is key to this role.
Responsibilities
About you
To deliver the results that we are looking for, we need a professional educated to degree-level in business or science (Marketing Diploma or MBA preferred), with a strong International or European experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical sector in marketing, market development, commercial or other relevant roles in a matrix environment. You bring in-depth knowledge and understanding of the European healthcare and procurement drivers and the healthcare industry in general. You have strong commercial awareness and understanding as well as the ability to translate market complexities and clinical information into marketing strategies and programs.
You have proven experience in market development and shaping. You have clinical acumen and preferably previous experience in the Oncology or Pharmacy field. You have led and managed teams directly as well as developed their skills and you are results focused. You have strong communications capabilities to gain support and commitment from others and drive execution as well as the ability to build collaborative relationships within the region and worldwide teams. You are perfectly fluent in English (speaking another major European language would be an advantage). Finally, you are willing to travel regularly, in and outside of Europe (minimum 20% and up to 40%).
