Job Description


Purpose


In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the European marketing strategy for the Infection Prevention portfolio as a part of the European BDI (BD Interventional)-Surgery synergy.


You will work closely with the country teams to execute the marketing strategies/activities at a local country level as well as working with the Worldwide Platform in BDI. A key component will be a market by market understanding of the reimbursement, channel strategy, and stakeholder influence. You will also work closely with local sales managers and BioSurgery marketing manager counterpart to define the best go-to-market strategy and related tactical execution.


You will focus on the development needs of the region aligned to the Worldwide strategy. You will have the opportunity to build out a direct marketing team as the business scale and needs grow.


Skills and Competencies



  • Competence in execution and experience in developing a new business or geography

  • Acute understanding of the commercial needs

  • Work to build local advocacy and KOLs by market

  • Ability to translate clinical information into marketing & commercial strategies.

  • Experience and knowledge in product and portfolio management

  • Market development and shaping working with other stakeholders in this area.

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure effective execution.

  • Building collaborative relationships within the region and worldwide teams.

  • Develop deep customer and market insight to enable fact based decisions to be made.

  • Works collaboratively within the regional marketing team and with the country teams.

Qualifications & Experience



  • Degree level qualification

  • 5 years minimum experience in the Medical Device sector ideally in a market development role

  • Ideally an understanding of the regulatory requirements for pharma

  • International or European marketing experience.   

  • IT competent

  • Surgical specialty knowledge benefit, but not mandatory

  • Fluent in English. A further major European language would be an advantage

  • Up to 75% travel mandatory in early years
