Senior Laboratory Technician Applications (m/f)

(Ref: SLTA – SC01)

To support our Technical Support Team within the Advanced Materials division, we are looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician Applications. The position is a full time contract , at our Advanced Materials European HQ in Basel, CH. Business travel up to 10% to European customers may be required.

In this position, you will be a senior laboratory technician manufacturing samples and prototype parts for multiple business applications: Aerospace, Automotive, Sports, Wind, Power and Light electrical devices. You will maintain and improve state of the art machinery and tools used in the laboratories. You will ensure that technical information are clearly communicated through the application laboratory and technical service department. You are an autonomous and highly motivated professional who takes initiatives to push further the technical boundaries of our technologies.

Your main tasks and responsibilities as Senior Laboratory Technician Applications:

• Perform Application activities alone or together with multidisciplinary teams in the application lab or on site at customers:


• Produce plates /parts or samples with the state of the art Composite, Adhesive, Casting and Electronic encapsulation processes


• Carry- out product and process demonstrations


• Ensure training for customers and fellow associates


• Develop new ideas and application techniques to assist customers and other associates


• Propose ideas and implement them for process related machinery improvement


• Secure Total Quality Management within the laboratories and ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of the equipment and machinery


• Delivers clear and detailed reports of project work


• Ensure that all activities within the laboratory are in line with Environment, Health and Safety principles, Ethics & Compliance

Requirements:

• Bachelor or State-Certified Technical Engineer (or similar) Degree in mechanics, engineering, part production process or chemistry with at least 5-year experience in similar position


• Good understanding of the state of the art thermoset processes in the Encapsulation, casting of Electronic components and/or Composites


• Good knowledge in equipment and machinery of those industries


• Good knowledge of the epoxy processing


• Ability to work in autonomy in the laboratories and industry workshop


• Good background of standards and testing methods used in the above-mentioned industries


• Effective oral and written English skills; German or any other language is an asset


• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills


• Process oriented mindset and hands-on and can-do attitude


• Good organization and time management skills
