The Altran Team in Zurich is looking for qualified and passionate engineers supporting its clients in the German speaking part of Switzerland, from concept to realization phase.

Your role

• Defining, implementing and evolving the common software architecture and framework for a new common machine software system


• Continuously improve the existing software architecture and framework and design a next generation platform for innovative industry 4.0 products and IoT services


• Drive the new architectural vision, strategy, and principles by close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as machine development teams and executive level members.


• Craft a new innovative, modular system software platform which connects all currently different standards into one architecture.


• Specify the necessary framework, architecture and software modules including requirements specification, software design and test specification as well as support of its implementation (business language English)

Your profile

• Degree (MSc or BSc) in information technology (Uni, FH, ETH), focus on software or electrical engineering


• More than 5 years of professional experience in developing PLC software architectures / frameworks for multiple machines on multiple projects in an international environment


• Profound knowledge in modern software design patterns


• Expert in modular PLC architecture and its programming languages (ST, ANSI C is a plus)


• Good knowledge in PLC / HMI applications, common interface technologies (e.g. OPC UA) and web technologies (HTML5, JS, CSS3)


• Profound knowledge in fieldbus technologies (CAN, Powerlink or similar)


• Experience in agile software development methods


• Experience using modern software modelling tools (UML)


• Business fluent in English, German is an advantage
