understand front to back flows of accounting and IT system with the ability to partner with other functions to address inefficiencies
prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger, with associated reconciliation and reporting
compile and analyze financial information for finance and other business functions
provide timely, action-oriented analysis and advice, supporting the function in making sound decisions
work with IT, key stakeholders and other functions to precisely capture requirements and deliver process improvement in line with our strategic programs of work

Your team:
We are a global team within the Accounting, Controlling and Reporting function of UBS with a presence in Pune, New York, London and Zurich. The team (of about 40 employees) is a global center of excellence and is responsible for all accounting, controlling and reporting related to global variable compensation plans, post-employment benefits, grantor entity controlling, financial advisor compensation in the US and other compensation matters.
In this role, which is located in the UBS office in Zurich, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of the Compensation Controlling area and become the key subject matter expert in your area of responsibility. You will closely collaborate with your colleagues and stakeholders around the globe.
Your expertise:
a university degree in finance or economics, with a strong understanding of accounting principles
three to five years of accounting and controlling experience in financial services (CPA or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory)
experience in data analysis, financial reporting, reconciliation of financial data with strong analytical skills
a strong understanding of relational databases, SQL and business objects
good understanding of Front-To-Back processes and associated financial controls
able to define and write logical data and financial reporting requirements and liaise with IT for delivery
