Product Manager, Cargo and Logistics Training

As the Product Manager, Cargo and Logistics Training, you will report to the Senior Manager, Cargo Training and Validation Programs. You will be responsible for growing, developing and managing the Cargo and Logistics portfolio of training courses and diploma programs. You will need to grow the training portfolio sustainably and make it even more financially successful than present. You will also need to innovate and enhance the trainnig programs based on aviation industry standards in accordance with the needs of the aviation industry and financial objectives.


Responsibilities

You will:

  • Manage the Cargo and Logistics training portfolio and achieve financial targets; 

  • Devise and implement a strategy to grow the training portfolio sustainably; 

  • Develop new training programs and enhance existing training programs in accordance to market needs and industry standards; 

  • Develop and manage the business plan, budget and forecasts for matters related to the training activities; 

  • Maintain and develop your pool of subject matter experts and instructors worldwide, through careful selection, recruitment and management of external instructors; 

  • Manage global market research, develop business and marketing plans in collaboration with Marketing and Regional Sales; 

  • Promote the training portfolio at various events, conferences, seminars and forums to generate awareness and increase the uptake of training; 

  • Engage with customers for products promotion, business development and opportunity identification; 

  • Monitor and support the training sales activities; 

  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and other relevant experts for the development and review of training programs with a focus on industry needs and standards; 

  • Oversee the delivery of training, ensuring high service quality for customers; 

  • Manage production and distribution activities for self-study learning kits and online programs; 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) critical for the training portfolio, specifically for the introduction, implementation and operation of new training programs and solutions; 

  • Develop and publish industry whitepapers on cargo and logistics training in collaboration with industry experts; 

  • Collaborate with Product Manager, Cargo Publications to ensure IATA's cargo standards are distributed as part of IATA's training programs; 

  • Work closely with other Training Product Managers, Training Operations and Regional teams.


Qualifications and Skills

You have: 

  • A university degree (Bachelor or Masters);

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in product management, business development, training, marketing or related activities;

  • The experience in the air transport industry, specifically in the area of air cargo logistics; 

  • The knowledge of budgetary processes and financial projections; 

  • Excellent inter-personal skills; 

  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;

  • The ability to work in teams; 

  • A familiarity with matrix organizations; 

  • The experience in a multi-cultural and multi-racial working environment; 

  • An entrepreneurial spirit;

  • A willingness to try management products and/or training creatively and innovatively;  

  • Excellent PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office programs; 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • A knowledge of other languages (preferably).
