Founded in 1973 by the CEOs of global insurers, The Geneva Association is an international
insurance think tank that produces and distributes high-quality research and analysis on global
strategic insurance and risk management issues.


Our research promotes policy-related and public discussions among our members, academics,
standard setters, policymakers, governments, international organisations and the public at large. The
objective is to educate and develop understanding on the unique role and importance of insurance in
economies and for societies through publications, conferences and active discourse with policymakers
and others. The Geneva Association takes an active role in discussions with policymakers, central
bankers, regulators and supervisors on behalf of the insurance industry.


POSITION
We are looking for an online communications manager to support the Director Communications in the
execution of our earned and owned communications activities.


ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • End-to-end editorial and publishing support for the Association’s research reports. Activities
    include editing and proofing, drafting and correcting copy, liaising with printers, etc.

  • End-to-end preparation of communication campaigns using different formats (targeted email,
    social networks, media, etc. Activities include drafting key messages and supporting points,
    briefing creative agencies on infographics and other visual assets, video, etc.

  • Managing and maintaining the main Geneva Association website, apps, webinar systems,
    targeted email and analytics tools

  • Manage the database and advice on value-mining activities

  • Preparing and posting content for the Association’s social media channels, cultivating target
    audiences and increasing awareness and impact

  • Supporting the development and execution of communications activities, e.g. video production,
    interview preparation (e.g. research for drafting questions for interviewees), events support

  • Support budgeting and controlling


REQUIREMENTS



  • At least 5 years’ communications experience in financial services, FMCG or non-profit sectors


  • Master’s degree in English, Publishing or Marketing


  • Experience in content development, particularly in print formats (full-fledged reports, white
    papers, full-length magazines, books) is a strong advantage


  • Experience in publishing, i.e. liaising with designers, typesetters, printers, copywriters is a
    clear differentiator


  • Experience in editing/proofreading complex pieces of content is highly desirable


  • Experience in the use of a website, social and digital media to deliver integrated and
    coordinated communications output across channels. Knowledge of Drupal and Sugar or
    similar CRM systems is a strong advantage.


  • Experience in Digital and social media content development, including infographics, GIF
    animations, visual quotes, etc.


  • Experience in using Google Analytics.


  • Highly results oriented, with attention to quality and detail; and with a flair for design/aesthetics


  • Able to work independently, with limited supervision and high levels of ownership of his/her
    own initiatives


  • Superior, highly detailed knowledge of English required (native, educated to Masters level);
    knowledge of additional languages desired
