Role Summary:
You will work on multiple projects as Sr. Director in PowerMax ERP with the specific role of Sourcing & Logistics functional solution design team lead for the PowerMax Design CoE.
Essential Responsibilities:
You will provide clear strategic direction for new or modified solution designs to your team ensuring that they do not degrade the integrity of the overall ERP solution and do not compromise the implementation of existing or future business goals. You will own the design of all complex solutions within your domain and that can also span into other applications that are interfacing to PowerMax. You ensure that your team members work with deployment teams to determine what can be delivered by balancing the need for new features with bandwidth, release schedule, defects, and technical debt. Your priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders such as Process Leaders, Delivery Leaders, Peers and Operational Owners.
In this role, you will:
• You have full managerial responsibility for a team of 9 SAP experts in at least three main locations and 2 different time zones • Provide functional and also technical guidance to your team members • You mentor and motivate your team members to deliver results in a very uncertain and agile business environment • Work with Process Excellence teams on the design of world class ERP solutions that span accross multiple applications within your functional domain and own their long-term roadmap and strategy • Frequent liaison with SAP AG to validate proposed solutions and their alignment with the SAP product strategy and roadmap
• Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity • Engage frequently with peers in the Design CoE and with Deployment and Delivery teams; facilitate discussions, propose plans and approaches to solve problems provide clarification on PowerMax functionality, drive scope confirmation and refinement. • Ensure that established PowerMax governance processes are respected and recommend changes to these processes in a spirit of continuous improvement • Be aware of the PowerMax delivery backlog and its implications for the teams you are engaged with at any given time • Be regarded as an leading expert in PowerMax ERP and how it has been implemented to support Gas Power, Steam Power and Power Services • Have very strong experience in simplifying and harmonizing business processes using ERP advanced technologies.
• Demonstrate superior influencing skills that ensure alignment between customer and ERP teams • Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge to drive the implementation of best practices and standard software wherever possible
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) • Broad technical experience along with established leadership credentials implementing SAP ERP OR Master’s degree with strong experience OR PhD with experience.
• Legal authorization to work in Switzerland is required. Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise: • Expert functional level knowledge of SAP implementations in a large industrial manufacturing company with a project-driven supply chain • Strong technical SAP expertise in your functional domain and other third party state of the art applications • Additional strong knowledge of multiple functional SAP domains such as SD, MM, etc. • Experience working in an agile software development environment • Awareness of the SAP product evolution and roadmap to new features, functions or applications
Business Acumen:• Detailed knowledge of domain specific business requirements and processes and the ability to translate them quickly into effective and standardized solution designs
