Your Responsibilities:
The position holders will be accountable for developing and deploying the GSK Central Safety Department (CSD) strategy for introducing advance technologies. They will be required to successfully mobilize programs and projects of significant complexity both independently and, in appropriate instances, partnering collaboratively to ensure complementary systems and processes are implemented. The position holders will be responsible for evaluating the quality, fitness-for-purpose and technical design of new technology and will manage projects through the evaluation phase to successful completion, thereby supporting GSK’s commitment to patient safety and positioning CSD to continue to prioritize patient safety as a GSK fundamental principle, comply with global regulatory requirements and advance critical business objectives in an increasingly complex and challenging regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• End-to-end accountability for the overall strategy to introduce and adopt advanced automation and other technologies to improve the operational efficiency of the CSD
• Define and develop an investment roadmap for the introduction and adoption of advanced automation technologies, collaborating at an enterprise level with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Global Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, LOCs, Clinical, R&D Tech, etc.) to identify key automation opportunities
• Lead projects where artificial intelligence, machine learning and “big data” tools can be used to extract more knowledge for decision making and for optimization/automation of manual activities
• Business Lead for planning, deployment, process development, quality, training and effective use of innovative solutions involving advanced automation technologies such as robotic process automation, machine learning, predictive analytics and other emerging technologies.
• Drive external engagement/ develop strategic partnerships with regulatory agencies, industry working groups, vendors and other external partners to position GSK as a leader in innovative technologies supporting drug safety.
• Identify and define business requirements / use cases for projects to support business justification, incorporating input from key stakeholders, product analysis, etc.
• Establish a framework for evaluating and pressure-testing innovative technology solutions aimed at driving efficiency
• Engage with diverse stakeholders to ensure transparency and clarity in agreed strategies and influence stakeholders to obtain support for recommendations
• Establish and maintain project plans for the evaluation, pilot and embedding of high quality technology solutions, including defined post-implementation measures for success
Why You?Basic qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or Physics or equivalent scientific education and/or work experience.
• 6-8 years technical experience with understanding and/or hands-on experience in information technology
• 2-3 years Project Management or leadership/supervisory experience in a medium to large organization (e.g., lean six sigma, etc.)
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience presenting key data to stakeholders
• Extensive experience leading and/or working on cross-functional teams within a matrixed environment
• Demonstrated ability to effectively influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
•Strong business acumen and networking skills
• Pharmaceutical industry experience and knowledge of Pharmacovigilance processes and global Pharmacovigilance regulations strongly preferred
• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly innovative mind-set and experience
• Strong problem solving and excellent written/verbal communication skills
