About the Role



We are looking for a highly motivated intern who is passionate about helping to craft the Tech as well as the HR strategy for Asset Management IT in one of the world's largest reinsurance companies. The role also includes supporting other Tech initiatives and working on projects shaping the digital as well as the linked HR strategy of Asset Management IT. You will join our diverse team in Zurich and collaborate with colleagues from New York, London, and Bratislava. In addition to this you:


 



  • Support developing and implementing a digital strategy

  • Help deriving a sustainable HR strategy from the digital strategy

  • Create state of the art presentations in the strategy field using papers from the top consulting and research institutions

  • Support the creation of papers and brochures describing the impact of digital technologies on an Asset Manager

  • Support the digital media team in the creation of webpages and intranet sites. Create related content and blogs in order to increase reach.


 


About the Team


 


With more than USD 150 bn of assets under management, Swiss Re Asset Management handles the assets generated through the core insurance and reinsurance business.



The Asset Management IT Team is working out of four main locations spread around the globe and is running in an agile fashion without traditional hierarchies. The strategy and as well the human capital team are mainly located in Zurich and consist of 2-5 people each, including the head of the department.


 


With the advent of technologies such as AI, Blockchain, RegTech or robotics the value chain of asset management will radically change in the future. This is why we are looking for passionate and smart individuals who have a background in strategy development in a tech environment and who are seeking for exciting possibilities to apply their know-how in the financial world.



About You


 



  • Tech-savvy and curious: You hold a Bachelor or are in your Master studies in computer science, finance, financial engineering, maths or business administration with a technology focus; you have strong analytical skills and are eager to apply your knowledge in the financial world

  • You have basic knowledge about financial products, investment strategies, regulations and the value chain of an asset management company

  • Are you passionate about Strategy incl. impact on workforce, FinTech, Tech and digital trends?

  • Self-motivated and great teammate: You drive progress independently, thrive in an environment where you have room to grow and perform and you love working in a team

  • Organized and fluent: You get things done and command excellent oral and written English, additionally German would be a plus

  • Forward-looking and driven: You have a strategic mind, are keen to make a difference that counts, are willing to propose creative ideas and put yourself out there for them


 


Duration of internship: 4-6 months (ideally 6 months), starting between April and June 2019
