ABB Corporate Research, in close collaboration with ABB business areas, is developing the foundations for the next generation of ABB products. Its department of Power Electronics is looking for an intern for at least six months to assist the Scientists in the design, implementation and testing of low-voltage power converter prototypes. We offer a friendly, international work environment with the possibility to be part of industrial research projects. An Internship at ABB Corporate Research is an excellent opportunity to obtain industrial work experience, meet people from many different countries, and learn to apply theory in practice.

Aufgaben :


- Program a Texas Instruments DSP in C language and a Lattice FPGA in VHDL
- Test, identify and debug the overall control program, including implement basic functions necessary to operate the converter
- Build and test PCBs
- Work closely with the Scientist and assist them in the projects


Anforderungen:


- B.Sc. or M.Sc. student; officially enrolled in a degree program in a university is essential
- Solid background in electronic design, software engineering, power electronics or embedded systems
- Basic knowledge in analog and digital electronics as well as in programming of embedded systems using C/C++ (DSPs and microcontrollers) and VHDL (FPGAs)
- Knowledge in PCB design and related software (e.g. PADS, Altium Designer) and power electronics, especially three-phase converters and their control, is advantageous
- Motivated, technically oriented and self-organized team player
- Fluent command of English
