Digital Design Specialist (EPFL Extension School / 50-100%)


Your mission :

The
EPFL Extension School is looking to hire a
Digital Design Specialist (DDS) for our
marketing and communications team, working 50-100%. The DDS will develop and implement design and collateral (ranging from our web sites to landing pages, print and event marketing collateral, development of our digital brand identity, etc.) across various touch points and targeted at various audiences.
Main duties and responsibilities include :

Our audiences range from advanced technical learners to beginner learners seeking to upskill or re-skill themselves, from hiring managers to operational managers seeking to upskill their teams, from teenagers wanting to learn more than their school curriculum provides to retirees looking to stay engaged in the technologies of our time, from the Swiss market to the fully international market. The DDS needs to help us reach all of those distinct audiences, with varied messaging and imagery as needed, while retaining some core common elements tying our messaging, look and feel together coherently.The DDS will take the lead on formalizing and expanding our brand design and design guidelines, and will design and develop our landing pages, event pages, dedicated web sites and newsletter templates. S/he will lead the design and UX/UI efforts for the redesign of our main web presence (exts.epfl.ch). S/he will contribute to our social media strategy, help build our online advertising presence and be part of our SEO implementation. S/he will also be a key participant in the definition and implementation of our overall multi-channel marketing strategy. This is an
extremely hands-on role.
Your profile :



  • Strong graphic design and visual communications skills

  • Ability to design and develop teaser graphics and video for use in social media and online advertising (Facebook, YouTube, podcasts, Medium posts, etc.)

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken (all EPFL Extension School content is in English)

  • Previous experience building collateral used for inbound, search, affiliation, etc.

  • Previous experience with Google and Facebook advertising platforms

  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring correct and consistent spelling, grammar, layout and fit with overall marketing, messaging and communications goals

  • Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to complete tasks on time, to specification, and on message without close supervision

  • Good team player

  • Self-starter, capable of autonomous work

  • Excellent communications and relationship management / “people” skills

  • Excellent verbal presentation skills

  • Ability to design, build, code and A/B test responsive landing pages a strong plus

  • Ability to design and build marketing newsletter templates (we use Campaign Monitor and Mailjet) a strong plus

  • Familiarity with digital marketing metrics a strong plus

  • Strong competences in InDesign/for-print background and preparing design files for print a plus

  • Previous specific UX/UI experience a plus

  • Startup experience a plus
