to work on an applied and interdisciplinary research project, “Si-DRIVE”, in an international context on environmental impact and sustainability assessment of the next generation of Li-Ion batteries for electric vehicles.
Your Tasks
The European project Si-DRIVE will develop the next generation of rechargeable Li-ion batteries, allowing for cost competitive mass-market electric vehicles by transformative materials and cell chemistry innovations, delivering enhanced safety with superior energy density, cycle life and fast charging capability using sustainable and recyclable components. This position will involve a continuous assessment of the sustainability of the material developments taking place in the technical work packages by using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a basic tool. You will further developed the LCA method by integrating further screening and up-scaling aspects in an appropriate manner in order to guide the development processes in a sustainable direction from an early stage on and be involved in the Life cycle cost analysis, evaluation & benchmarking against alternative technologies in close collaboration with the industrial partners of Si-DRIVE.
