Why we are recruiting: The Forum’s Center for Global Industries provides a platform to the world’s leading industry communities to shape the Industry Agenda and advance public-private cooperation. The Forum ICT Industry partners are key players in the community and comprise over 70 leading global companies in the Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications sectors, across all regions. They benefit from and contribute to the global knowledge base through working closely with the Forum to set the intellectual agenda of Forum meetings, drive the insight agenda of its publications and steer the impact of its initiatives. We are currently seeking an ICT Community Curator who will work with ICT and other relevant industry CEOs and executives, as well as government ministers and policy makers, to understand key strategic issues, develop shared priorities for positive systemic impact and develop a distributed portfolio of collaborative efforts to address these priorities. 
Reporting Lines and Interactions: The Community Curator will report to the Head, Telecoms & Digital Communications Industry and to the Head, IT & Electronics Industry. Internally, this person will work with other colleagues in the ICT Industry & Digital Economy and Society Team , as well as with other colleagues in other relevant teams; and externally with a broad range of stakeholders in the Forum’s Partner companies, which include organizations such as Verizon, Nokia, Ericsson, AT&T, Bharti , BT, Liberty Global, Microsoft, Siemens, IBM Corporation, Huawei Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Google, and Facebook. 
Main responsibilities:

  • Create and curate a diverse multistakeholder community of the most relevant people committed to effecting systemic change, directly interacting with ICT industry CEOs and executives, and senior government officials

  • Strengthen core industry peer community of key strategic leaders within partner companies (strategy officers)

  • Facilitate ongoing community dialogue to develop shared strategic goals and priorities for collective action to achieve these outcomes

  • Develop content and agenda for top-level peer communities of ICT industry CEOs  

  • Define and develop a coherent, distributed portfolio of relevant impactful projects, including Forum-run projects, joint ventures with institutionally important partners, and efforts run by community members

  • Establish agreements for private-public cooperation and partnerships with other international organizations, not-for-profit institutions, business and governments


The successful candidate will be assessed on:

  • Ability to define and develop coherent and relevant platforms, bringing together a relevant portfolio of projects and initiatives that have significant impact on the ICT community 

  • Developing a clear, compelling and distinct value proposition and purpose for the ICT Community and our core community groups 

  • Developing an integrated programming approach, where each community can feed into an ongoing process of issue identification, problem definition and community mobilization

  • Number and quality of multi-stakeholder projects brought in to be curated on the Forum’s platform

  • Continuously improving support and services offered to Forum constituents


Preferred Requirements and Experience:

  • Broad intellectual background with a  Master's degree in a related subject

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in ICT industry or related business, consulting or other relevant fields; experience across more than one sector and with international organisations and governments welcome

  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; verbal proficiency in other languages would be an asset 

  • Strong understanding of the ICT sector and emerging trends; as well as of the policy landscape related to technology

  • Comfortable communicating and interacting with senior leaders across the public and private sectors, strong public speaking skills, a strong network of contacts  and ability to influence at all levels 

  • Proven experience overseeing strategic projects and successfully managing and developing high-achieving teams

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and relationship skills

  • Committed to improving the state of the world, with solid values and ethical principles
