  • Personnel and technical management of the terminology function at Language & Translation Services (one direct report) and coordination of the terminology service with the internal translators

  • Management of terminology projects in collaboration with internal customers, development of specialist and thematic terminology from internal and external sources

  • Operational responsibility for the functioning of terminology applications (Term Star, Web Term), responsibility for terminology in the introduction of new software and its updates

  • Support of the terminology mailbox for queries from external translators regarding the content of translation orders, including targeted research, clarification with internal customers and consultation of reference materials, as quality assurance measure

  • Representation of the "Language & Translation Services" department in terminology matters inside and outside the company

  • Training and support for internal users of the terminology database

  • Regular active support in the field of Translation Technology

  • Support of the STAR CLM translation workflow tool, the computer-aided translation tool Transit and the machine translation solution Smart Mate with corresponding interfaces to internal and external contacts (internal IT department, external software suppliers, internal and external translators and providers)

  • Job preparation (formatting, PDF conversion, etc.) for efficient use of the language technologies used by Language & Translation Services (translation memory, machine translation) and post-editing of translation jobs (layout adjustments, troubleshooting)

  • Contact point for technical problems of all kinds (incl. hardware problems) for employees (translators, project managers, terminologists) at Language & Translation Services

  • Deputy Head of Quality Management, active participation in customer surveys and handling of customer complaints in connection with "Language & Translation Services" services

  • Project management of recurring multilingual translation projects that need special terminology coordination and support


 


You Offer

 

  • Degree in translation with specialization on technology or computational linguistics or IT with strong focus on language technology solutions or equivalent professional experience / track record

  • Profound knowledge of the translation and localization industry and processes, ideally in a management function

  • Sound experience with language technology tools (translation management systems, CAT tools, machine translation

  • Good language skills (very good English)

  • Management experience and skills

  • Education and/or experience in project management

  • A winning and open personality with excellent interpersonal skills combined with an outstanding ability to communicate

  • Personal integrity, with the initiative and the ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
