Our global product portfolio is divided into different SPGs (Strategic Product Groups) which are the direct interface to the Production Organizations (PO), on product development, active life management (forecast, capacities, quality) and phase out. Hence, the SPG's are operating at a very critical intersection of the various entities and drive an optimal positioning of Mettler-Toledo on their respective product lines. To strengthen the team of the SPG Industrial Software in Nänikon, we are looking for an entrepreneurial Global Product Manager Application Software Solutions (m/f) who takes over a key role in managing a portfolio of weighing solutions for particular customer applications in Industry throughout the entire product lifecycle.



  • You will contribute to, implement the SPG strategy, and take responsibility for the assigned products and respective service-products

  • You will take a key role in managing these products around the Globe and throughout the entire lifecycle from initializing the development of new products, through maintaining active products until retirement of obsolete products and you take care of product, price and promotion aspects

  • You will determine customer needs and derivation of product specification for new software and consultative product including the evaluation of the commercial justification of the project

  • Furthermore you will prepare and execute product launches including elaboration of launch materials, sales tools, guidance on market positioning, presentation to customers and coordinate training for the sales, support and training associates in the market organizations

  • Last but not least you will determine sales process and pre-sales and follow-on services for the products, if applicable, determine spare parts, their positioning and logistics/availability


Ihr Profil


Following requirements are necessary for this role:  



  • Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Marketing (with a strong SW focus)

  • Experience and successful track record in product management of software and/or consultative products

  • Sales experience in software and/or consultative selling is a significant plus as well as knowledge of formulation process methodology and strong sense for commercial aspects

  • You are a networker with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with market organizations and customers

  • You should be able to motivate people in matrix organization and get things done

  • You have a good sense for business opportunities as well as entrepreneurial attitude combined with excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German, more languages are a plus

  • Readiness to travel globally (up to 10 - 15%)
