Role Summary:

GE Healthcare is looking for a Software Engineer who will be working in Malborough (US), or Cambridge (UK) or Eysins (Switzerland) and be part of a multidisciplinary and global R&D team developing manufacturing equipment aiming to process biological cells in the field of cellular therapies.




Essential Responsibilities:



  • The Software Engineer will be involved in developing a new equipment. The candidates will be accountable for developing parts of the software of this new platform along with other team members and for achieving time and quality objectives, coordinating development with external/internal partners and effective team execution, as well as communicating program status and escalating issues when appropriate to facilitate on-time project delivery

  • Participate in writing SW project specifications, executing the SW development and performing verification and validation activities with focus on quality, compliance and execution rigor.

  • Develop the software project (C / C++ / C#, XML) or similar

  • Collaborate on the project with other team members in several locations, including third party companies.

  • Involvement in setting-up the test plan, and execution in early development and final stage through verification and validation activities.

  • Execute internal validations in collaboration with other functions.

  • Participate in documenting the project file including user requirements, project planning, design input and output and set up and maintain the technical dossier for regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO13485 or ISO9001 standards and other QMS requirements.


Qualifications/Requirements:



  • University degree or equivalent in software engineering

  • Strong experience in R&D and project management

  • Demonstrated successful experience in developing multi-layers software running on laboratory devices, or IVD, or medical devices or manufacturing equipment running in a GMP environment.

  • Previous development done under embedded OS (Microsoft embedded), or OS deployment is a plus

  • First Experience in launching SW products following a development life cycle involving proof of concept, complex design, verification & validation plan under a quality management system

  • Ability to communicate (oral, written) across global, cross-cultural, cross-functional teams

  • Founded knowledge and practical experience of relevant regulations (ISO 9001, ISO13485, cGMP)

  • Fluent in English, a second language is a plus

  • Customer-oriented mindset, autonomous at work, creative and initiatives welcomed
