For our production plant based in Albacete (Spain), we are searching an experienced

ENGINEERING SPECIALIST

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will lead and manage Manufacturing and Quality engineering activities including products and
processes development, production, testing and quality. Implements and maintains overall engineering
objectives and initiatives to improve efficiency. Leads and develops the engineering team. Oversees a robust
project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Provides
input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Capable of resolving escalated
issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Implement and maintain all
applicable QSR / GMP requirements.

MAIN DUTIES
Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, the Engineering Specialist is responsible for leading the
engineering activities focused on product and process design, development, testing and continuous
improvements. The ideal candidate will be hands on, with leadership skills and project management
experience. The position is also responsible for supervising a small team as direct reports.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent with 5 years of engineering experience within electronic,
  medical device or biotech manufacturing companies; experience on an international level and
  business merge and integration will be considered as a strong plus


• Analytical and mathematical mindset, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems


• Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a small team


• Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the
  engineering issues on track


• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment


• Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience


• Ability to work individually and as part of a team


• Certification in 6 Sigma, 5s or other Lean Manufacturing techniques will be considered and important
  advantage


• Fluent in English and Spanish

Skills and Experience

• Experience in mechanical and robotic equipment implementation and management


• Ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities to meet deadlines;


• Familiarity with computer techniques, file navigation, data collection methods, etc.


• Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.


• Exceptional written, oral and presentation communication skills


• Self-motivated team player with ability to influence others and work within cross-functional teams to
  make critical decisions

Responsibilities:

• Design, acquire, install and commission mechanical/electrical equipment, systems, and parts to
  support manufacturing


• Equipment maintenance and calibration


• Partner with operations departments to identify problems, conduct Root Cause Analysis, analyze
  requirements to come up with optimal resolutions for challenging equipment issues


• Design Assurance Quality Planning (i.e. new product development and design transfer)


• Actively participate in the design control process: planning, design input, design output, design review,
  design verification, design validation, design changes, and design history file maintenance


• Manage process validations in conformity with Datamars QMS


• Ensure that the production and/or service of products are maintained at the rate and quality levels
  assigned as required by applicable KPI’s


• Provide input requirements and direction for manufacturing tooling and equipment


• Direct and oversee successful integration of process automation activities


• Oversee equipment and process testing and conduct analytical and product performance testing


• Maintain compliance with all Quality Systems requirements. Fully adhere to all applicable ISO / GMP
  regulations, international guidelines and company policies at all times
