About the opportunity

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Vaccines represents a field based, medical, and customer focused role enabling medically oriented interaction with external stakeholders on the basis of individual contacts, educational events and medical projects. The MSL is an expert on Sanofi-Pasteur vaccines, areas of vaccine research and drives strategic partnerships with Healthcare professionals (HCPs) and other important Healthcare stakeholders at peer-to-peer level, developing their knowledge and providing solutions to support appropriate use of Sanofi-Pasteur’s vaccines to fulfil our mission of a world in which no one suffers or dies from a vaccine preventable disease.

Key responsibilities  

Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professional management

• Proven ability to develop and foster peer-to-peer, credible relationships with Medical Experts and decision makers e.g. EKIF member, responsible persons of the BAG


• Identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Immunologists, Pediatricians, Gynecologists and Endocrinologists.


• Participates in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations at office visits, advisory boards, medical meetings, and other appropriate venues to enhance vaccines knowledge.


• Active participation in relevant congresses, symposia and other relevant meetings. Summarizing contents and engagement with KOLs.

Medical and scientific support

• Close collaboration with the cross-functional team, to ensure appropriate identification, mapping and engagement of external key stakeholders in alignment to the strategy


• Support colleagues (e.g. sales and marketing) in medical and scientific questions. Review of key journals.

• Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed medical information to key customers and stakeholders, including giving scientific presentations.


• Autonomous delivery of project milestones within Medical Affairs.


• Actively take part at internal training and meetings.


• Support the Market Access department

Clinical trials

• Respond to requests for investigator initiated trials. Along with Experts and investigators, the MSL identifies, conceptualizes, and activates investigator-sponsored study concepts to identify unique product characteristics.


• Collaborate with clinical team to coordinate and optimize site visits with investigators participating in Sanofi- Pasteur trials.

Your qualifications

MD or PhD degree in life sciences

First experience in Pharma, preferable in the medical department

Proven in-depth scientific knowledge in immunology with demonstrable interest for science

German, English and French (written and oral fluently)

Soft skills

Ability to adapt, organize, prioritize, and work effectively on multifunctional teams in a constantly changing field-based environment

Excellent presentation skills. Team player, though capable of working autonomously

Manages projects or programs with high ethical standards, all in line with the legal requirements and provisions of International and Local Codes of Practice and within the allocated resources

Identifies problems and proposes innovative solutions

Meets set agreements with customers and colleagues

Talent for organization, excellent time management skills

Travels within Switzerland (Driving License required).

Business trips also to be planned in Europe to attend congresses or internal meetings

The role is splitted between approximately 30% working time on projects and 70% interactions with Healthcare professionals with an overall field time of approximately 80%.
