“Clinical Supply Chain Management” (PTDS) is responsible for the supply of all global clinical trials throughout the lifecycle of our products - Entry in Human (EIH) to post-approval. The group partners with customers and suppliers to offer best in industry services regarding lead-times, flexibility and cost-effectiveness. The organization includes demand and supply planning, patient kit development based on clinical protocols, the operational aspects of packaging, distribution and inventory management.


As Business Process Owner (BPO) Global Distribution you are a member of the Global Distribution (PTDS-L) Leadership team and responsible for managing the global Distribution Process as well as key projects and initiatives throughout the Global Distribution organization.


You are responsible to dedicatedly lead, champion and drive substantial improvements across the PTDS network. They partner with OE and other PTD customers, partners and stakeholders, help PT overall to achieve routine delivery of world-class performance across all PT global and affiliate operations.


You lead and oversee the E2E global distribution process. Your responsibilities include designing key business processes, identifying and aligning strategic and operational aspects, such as governance, decision-making, systems, roles & responsibilities, etc. to ensure effective, efficient, scalable and sustainable processes. You also define key metrics to measure the performance, effectiveness and efficiencies of the global distribution process processes, communicate with and educate others on business processes and related elements, influence adoption across the network, conduct ongoing assessments and drive continuous improvements.


As BPO your Responsibilities are:



  • Manage the Global Distribution business process and corresponding projects and partner with others to support a portfolio of process improvements across multiple functional areas and communicate expectations and associated responsibilities to the network and other key customers, partners and stakeholders

  • Stay abreast of internal and external business developments, opportunities and challenges, as these potentially influence the relevant line functions and associated Global Distribution Processes and participate in the ongoing development and enhancement of cross-functional team structures, processes, systems, other tools and resources

  • Works with the other Process BPOs, and other partners, customers and stakeholders to develop, implement and execute against the vision, strategy and objectives for Global Distribution

  • Effectively leverage the global network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to discover and align business process details and cross-functional operations, personnel, systems, tools and other resources

  • Lead major initiatives or special projects and design, ratify and deliver simple and agile processes to minimize waste, improve productivity and achieve business results and represent BPO stream in the PTDS-L LT and make decisions as part of the execution/leadership team

  • Conduct regular meetings with customers, partners and stakeholders and promote sharing of best practices and reinforcement of Business Process Management (BPM) mindsets and behaviors

  • Educates internal customers, partners and stakeholders on new or updated business processes or other relevant changes

  • Represent Global Distribution in the NEXUS project in the deliver work stream


Your Profile for this Role



  • Bachelors Degree (life sciences, engineering, business or finance disciplines preferred) and MBA or other related graduate degree is preferred

  • Min. 8 years related professional experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry preferably in a multidisciplinary environment and including min. 2 years previous people leadership experience (project, line or matrix)

  • Strong familiarity with business systems relevant to the deliver process (Plan, Source, Make are a plus). 2 or more years’ experience implementing and/or using SAP

  • Past BPM or related experience supporting product launches, plant openings or closures, or other major events preferably in an international or global setting

  • Shown leadership and project management skills as well as excellent problem-solving skills and with a proven track record of identifying, rectifying or capitalizing on complex or large-scale business or operational risks, uncertainties or opportunities

  • Strategic orientation as well as strong partnering skills and strong negotiation skills, ability to drive discussions and decisions toward desired results and a strong business and financial acumen with an understanding of manufacturing and clinical operations

  • APICS (Operations Management), PMP (Project Management Professional), Six Sigma or other OE-related certifications are a plus

  • International or global business experience is strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in English, German is a plus
