Director Sourcing, Global Agriculture and Europe Cocoa & Chocolate

Director Sourcing, Global Agriculture and Europe Cocoa & Chocolate drives development of best Procurement practices, including sourcing strategy definition, deployment, and stakeholder management to maximize total value contribution in their sub-Spend Area Cocoa and Chocolate.

This role requires holistic business acumen and P&L management.  Role will lead partnership with different players to set up a joint endeavor.

 
Responsibilities

• Manage global strategy development, deployment and strategic planning for assigned global sub-Spend Area – lead the development of strategies as well as supplier negotiation strategy and process.


• Lead the regional Sourcing Managers in different strategic planning and sourcing activities and facilitate build-up of best in class Procurement and industry mastery within the team.


• Lead the strategy development and implementation of Commercial Cocoa Farming agenda for Mondelez, encompassing over 40,000 ha of high yield cocoa plantation

  • Lead the team to evaluate the options of choosing the best partners.
  
  
  • Leading negotiations with the chosen partners
  
  
  • Manage internal stakeholders and drive organizational alignment.
  
  
  • R&D collaboration to ensure the best practices from the Farm of the Future
  
  


• Work together with the Cocoa Life team driving the sustainability agenda for Cocoa


• Manage stakeholder engagement, collaboration of teams, and supplier relationships


• Share best practices for all global Spend Areas and ensure standardization of processes and tools


• Coordinate delivery of assigned Regional and global KPI’s: manage delivery of margin, innovation, cash flow and other deliverables for the assigned Spend Area. 

Qualifications

 

• University Degree (BA or MA ideally from Finance / Business Administration)


• At least 15 years of experience in Procurement together with proven experience in leadership roles and significant experience in regional/ global positions


• Extensive knowledge of commodities procurement: knowledge of Cocoa is a must


• Experience from an international leading CPG company is a must


• Strong skills in Finance and P&L Management


• Proven track record and solid knowledge of Financial Markets, Investment Vehicles, M&A synergies & business integration as well as experience in Joint Venture business


• Extensive knowledge of Commercial Farming, Sustainable Sourcing, Government engagement     


• Well-developed Strategic Sourcing and Negotiations skills                         


• Experience in field farming & in leading remote sourcing teams


• Expertise in managing a large Spend Area


• Proficiency in English
