For the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department at our Le Locle site (NE), we are looking for a motivated and dedicated

 

Environment Health & Safety Specialist


Location: Le Locle 
Main responsibilities: 

  • Partner with local mgmt. to develop & implement action plans to address EHS program deficiencies & ensure EHS regulatory compliance

  • Build effective working relationships with staff & key stakeholders incl. corporate EHS functions and regulatory authorities

  • Develop EHS objectives for the sites, auditing, analyzing, documenting & reporting on their implementation & effectiveness to mgmt. via dashboards & reports

  • Monitor & evaluate EHS risks of operations, including change mgmt., ensuring continuous improvement of the EHS program to make it leaner & more efficient

  • Provides mgmt. with ongoing consultation pertaining to EHS regulations identifying the impacts of changes to regulations on key business objectives

  • Develop & implement EHS training strategy for the site, ensuring key risks & regulatory requirements are addressed for appropriate audiences, including new hires.

  • Support & facilitate site EHS committees/teams to ensure implementation of the EHS program

  • Maintain EHS mgmt. processes that support the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications, by ensuring site EHS mgmt. system is aligned & consistent with standards elements


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in scientific discipline (chemistry, physics, etc.)

  • Proven experience of EHS management system requirements (ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001), preferably gained in a multi-national, multi-disciplinary environment; pragmatic approach to development & delivery of EHS solutions

  • Proven mgmt. experience incl. setting objectives/targets & performance mgmt., being able to plan, execute & monitor projects to timescale and budget & assist in the deployment at the appropriate level/function

  • Internal auditor

  • Committed to promote EHS culture

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication in both English and French (written & verbal), stakeholder mgmt., problem-solving, influence, planning, organizing & time mgmt. skills
