Position description


The Revenue Management Pricing is responsible for the optimization of the overall revenue of the Lufthansa Group HUB Airlines (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian) and our Joint Venture Partners. By optimizing the overall revenue we set, steer and adjust the correct price points, balancing willingness-to-pay of our passengers and the passenger volumes we want to achieve in the markets. Together with our colleagues from sales, capacity steering, marketing and network management, we constantly develop our commercial models, concepts and products in line with the digital market environment and statistical data analytics applied.


The head of Revenue Management Pricing Home Markets Switzerland & Belgium is fully accountable for the  revenue market performance of Switzerland and Belgium for Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian alike. Leading a team of approximately 10 pricing analysts she/he monitors and manages the performance proactively. Although located in Zürich, commitment to take over additional overarching and strategic tasks and projects for all of our Hub Airlines affecting all locations and markets, is expected. The position offers a high commercial managerial freedom and exposure to the VP of Revenue Management and the CCO of SWISS.


Your Duties



  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of 10 people to unlock the full personal potential of our staff

  • Recruitment, re-numeration and planning of succession of team members

  • Planning and execution of an overall revenue management pricing strategy for Switzerland & Belgium

  • Developing the dedicated offer strategy, considering competitive behavior and commercial performance

  • Initiating and developing differentiated price concepts from a strategic and operational perspective for market Switzerland & Belgium in line with the Lufthansa Group pricing processes and guidelines

  • Setting and steering of price points according to customer segmentation, benchmark and willingness to pay

  • Monitoring of performance and initiating tactical and strategic measures to improve revenue optimization by yield and volume

  • Managing the interfaces within the revenue management organization, towards sales, distribution, product management, marketing, network and various other stakeholders

  • Representing the markets Switzerland & Belgium and LHG Pricing as a function within local boards and decision bodies of SWISS

  • Contributing or initiating the continuous improvement of revenue management and pricing methods within the process organization of Lufthansa Group

  • Leading strategic projects with high commercial relevance and impact for the Lufthansa Group

  • Participate in project steering board on behalf of revenue management


Requirements



  • University degree in economics, business administration or similar education

  • Substantial work experience dealing with challenges of commercial management

  • Work experience within the commercial department of an international airline beneficial

  • Entrepreneurial thinking and acting compared with willingness to take commercial responsibility

  • Digital Merchandizing experience is an asset

  • Leadership experience is an asset

  • Experience in project management is an asset

  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills and able to lead analyses of complex data volumes

  • Airline business knowledge is an advantage

  • Ability to break down complex subjects down to their essential components

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

  • A self-starter who enjoys taking ownership of a project and following it through until the end

  • Intercultural competence

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills; must be competent at writing and illustrating analyses and presentations

  • Willing to further expand and develop own skill-set/knowledge and seek new approaches to problems

  • Willing to act within the commercial network of the Lufthansa Group and willing to travel

  • Group solution oriented thinking
