Technician in Quantitative Wood Anatomy (50%)

You will be responsible for the accurate preparation of micro-sections from sub-fossil and recent wood for the subsequent measurement of various wood anatomical traits by an intern you will supervise. The work is part of the project XELLCLIM, which aims at exploring the potential of wood anatomical variation in conifers for climate reconstruction.


You possess a Master’s degree in forest ecology, climatology, geography, biol-ogy or in an equivalent field. Furthermore, you have strong and proven skills in preparing anatomical micro-sections and in assessing wood anatomical traits, and are experienced in dendrochronology. Knowledge in tree-ring width measurements, cross-dating, and other tree-ring related approaches is an asset. You work structured, efficiently as well as independently and have a high level of team spirit and flexibility. Your English is fluent.
