Intern in Quantitative Wood Anatomy

You will be responsible for digitizing micro-sections from sub-fossil and recent wood and the subsequent measurement of various wood anatomical traits with the dedicated image-analysis software ROXAS. The work is part of the project XELLCLIM, which aims at exploring the potential of wood anatomical variation in conifers for long climate reconstruction.


You possess a Bachelor’s degree in forest ecology, climatology, geography, biology or in an equivalent field. Knowledge in tree-ring width measurements, cross-dating, and other tree-ring related approaches are an asset. You like routine work at the computer. You work carefully as well as independently and have a high level of diligence and team spirit. You are fluent in English.
