For the Analytical Chemistry Research Group of the Environmental Chemistry Laboratory we are looking for a
PhD Student
Reconstructing historic and modern anthropogenic SU heavy metal pollution
Your tasks
Chemical analysis of trace elements in ice cores from the Siberian and Mongolian Altai using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)
Analyses and interpretation of results, time series analyses, comparison with emission estimates and historical data
Collaboration with research Groups in Belarus and Russia
Publication of results in scientific journals and presentation at international conferences
Your profile
Master degree in chemistry or natural/environmental sciences with a strong background in analytical chemistry
Experience and strong interest in experimental and analytical work
Experience in mass spectrometry and environmental research beneficial
Good communication and writing skills in English are required
Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team
