For our Headquarters in Basel we are currently looking for a Global Product Manager - Surgical NPD.
The Global Product Manager is working on New Product Development within a Development Program and is responsible for shaping innovative new product solutions based on industry experience, lead users and customer interaction and Straumann’s strategic objectives. He/she also owns the responsibility for the Product Life Cycle Management of an existing product portfolio and optimizes global product contribution.


Your tasks



  • Identifies, collects and assesses market and customer needs; transforms them into System and Product Requirements in close collaboration with R&D

  • In collaboration with Medical Marketing, Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs, writes Medical Marketing Plan, defines the product claims, drives pre-clinical and clinical study planning and tracks progress

  • Defines features and benefits and provides inputs on detailed positioning

  • In depth understanding of competitive landscape, delivers comparison of new products with competition

  • Delivers product related documentation (e.g. step-by-step, IFU, treatment guide for product solutions, presentations, website)

  • Develop detailed marketing plan, tailoring messaging to targeted customer segments, define product positioning, develop promotional concept and mix as well as content together with Marcom, set pricing together with Global Launch and Portfolio Management

  • Elaborates product training concepts and content together with T&E

  • Drives market introduction, oversees and supports regional marketing and local product managers during local launch (defines requirements for local launch readiness)

  • Close cooperation with Regional Marketing, RA and Operations to identify business opportunities and open new markets with existing products and ensure smooth phase out of other products

  • Owns responsibility for a defined implant product line, is key contact person for subsidiaries and HQ, answers product related questions from the field

  • Responsible for strategic claim development and product positioning, provides input to product strategy


Your profile



  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Product Management or Marketing in the dental industry

  • Product and solutions launch experience at global or international level is a must

  • Additional experience in downstream marketing / product management and/or local marketing is a strong plus

  • Experience in Project Management is a plus

  • Proven track record of achieving objectives and targetsAcademic degree in life sciences, technical, business administration or equivalent experience
