The department

ADM has started a new global Structured Trade Finance business unit with hub offices in Switzerland, Singapore and Panama/Sao Paulo. The core focus is on building new business opportunities for ADM’s commercial activities with innovative financial solutions through trade & structured finance products for banks and corporates as well as creating incremental value and tailor made funding solutions for both customers and suppliers of the group. The pillars of this new unit will primarily focus on the following aspects:

 

  1. Classical trade finance instruments distribution such as L/C issued by the regular activities of the business units of the group

  2. Offer Customer/Supplier solutions in relation with export & import activities

  3. Deploy and operate on proprietary financial structures for banks and corporates in various countries utilizing ADM existing footprint and trade flows

  4. Partner with global treasury group to deleverage ADM’s balance sheet and reduce counterparty risk.

 

The role

An opportunity has arisen for an STF Operations Analyst in Rolle, Switzerland. The STF Operations Analyst will be in charge of handling trade related structures for both customer/supplier solutions and proprietary financial structures. He or she will in particular handle proprietary transactions from the 3 different regions (Asia, Europe and LATAM).

This is a key role as STF business is very documents driven, and it will entail a strong collaboration with other STF team members (origination, risk distribution & structuring), but also other key stakeholders within the ADM organization and its business units, as well as tax, legal and risk. The ideal candidate will need to be able to grasp the multiple dimensions of STF structures to apply them to specific transactions. He or she will also be following the standard operating procedures that have been created.

 

Responsibilities

The main duties of this role will include:

 

  • Prepare and help executing documentation related to structured and arb trades (contracts, distribution agreements, confirmation letters etc).

  • Liaise with banks on all documentation requirements on trade execution

  • Liaise with finance / accounting on reconciliations of trades

  • Flag and liaise with Treasury/Cash Management team for payments scheduled on trades

  • Input trade details into system of record

  • Support filing, trade related structure documents

  • Support documentation of new trade structures into Product Approval Form (PAF) documents

  • Participate on other admin tasks

  • Track, monitor and allocate appropriate trade flows in collaboration with the business units to fulfil proprietary financial structures requirements

  • Monitoring of appropriate STF country/counterparty limits following guidance from ADM risk and treasury groups

 

 
External Job Description - Continued The candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following:

 

  • Degree in business, banking, finance, or other related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial institutions and/or corporate finance, preferably with structured trade finance exposure

  • Good understanding of trade, corporate lending as well as treasury activities

  • Attention to details

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Self-motivated, willingness to constantly innovate and seek new ways to support the activities of the group

  • Ability to grasp financial products and transactions

  • Passion for learning new products and skills and drive change when needed

  • Good communication skills

  • Very open minded and team oriented with a desire to succeed as a group
