At our engineering and production site in Velten, near Berlin we develop and produce innovative rubber-metal-parts for the markets rail, off-highway, marine, agriculture and energy.The department "Innovation & Digital" is always looking for new ways to develop technologies and products that make the specific environments feeling better for our customers. 

 

Your Task is

• Provide leadership and management to the design team


• Planning, delegating and reviewing team members


• Guiding, mentoring and motivating team members


• Marking design and product quality decisions


• Ensuring design rules are followed to ensure quality 


• Reviewing improvements to design tools


• Managing the incorporation of innovative materials, processes and products into new designs 


• Conduct or facilitate team training


• Collaborate with other design teams and departments within the Europe and overseas 


• Review business processes and procedures 


• Prepare business reports and KPIs 


• Supporting new enquiries by recommending existing products or designing new products in accordance with customer´s specifications 


• Preparing detailed technical drawings using AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks 3D CAD


• Beginning the cost estimation process of new designs using Trelleborg design tools and techniques supplemented by FEA


• Using design review and design for manufacture methodology to assess the feasibiltiy of a new design 


• Preparing various technical documents such as test specifications, test reports and clause-by-clause resonses to customer requirements


• Ensuring that new products are rested in accordance with your specification to meet the customer´s requirement 


• Providing product support to customers and sales personnel


• Providing design to suppliers and other internal departments 


• Traveling to customer facilities, both domestically and internationally, to provide product support


• Project managing new product introductions by liasisin other departments to ensure expected delivery dates


• Expanding the relationships with existing customers by continuosly propsing solutions that meet there object


• Keep technically up to date with product development / testing within rail and related industries

 

Candidate Profil

• The suitable candidate will be degree educated in mechanical or polymer engineering and/or have at least 10 years design experience within the antivibration products industry 


• Product design experience 


• Leadership training or experience 


• Proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar software 


• Project management experience


• Excellent communication skills across all business levels (internal & external)


• Appreciation of engineering applications particularly with antivibration technology


• Knowledge of carious methods of manufacture of metal parts


• Strong analytical skills


• Flexible and able to work under pressure whilst also maintaining a high level of attention to detail


• Willing to travel overseas as required to meet business needs


• Experience of working with ERP sytsems, for example SAP or Infor is desirable


• Another language in addition to German and English would be desirable but not essential
