For the SuperXAS beamline at the Swiss Light Source (SLS) we are looking for a
Beamline Scientist
X-ray spectroscopy
Your tasks
Participation in the operation, maintenance and continous upgrading of the SuperXAS beamline at the SLS
Establish your own research program in collaboration with colleagues at PSI
Active collaboration in the design and support of experiments with our user community
Support the design of new X-ray spectroscopy beamlines at SLS 2.0
Your profile
PhD degree in physics or a related field and several years of experience in work at a synchrotron or X-ray free electron laser facility
Good knowledge of synchrotron radiation instrumentation and data analysis software for hard X-ray spectroscopy, ideally combined with a background in physical or inorganic chemistry
As a flexible team member you are able to work on different mid-term projects
Regular publications in high ranking international journals is mandatory
We expect you to actively seek collaborations with both academic and industrial partners
Good communication skills in English and willingness to learn German are required
