Employee Relations and Investigations Partner (German)

As an Employee Relations Partner on the Employee Relations and Investigations team, you will provide expert advice in resolving and preventing workplace issues in EMEA. You will be supporting People Consultants and People Partners there, but will also work across all of our EMEA locations, conducting investigations and advising HR and other managers on how to apply Google policies and practices. You will work closely with our Legal, Ethics and Compliance, Security and Internal Audit, and Diversity, Integrity and Governance teams in order to interpret policies and procedures and to advise on fair and equitable employment practices.

Responsibilities


  • Provide advice and counsel to People Partners and People Consultants on a wide range of employee relations challenges in EMEA.

  • Partner with other Global Investigations teams to ensure that HR-related processes in EMEA are handled in a fair and timely manner, and that recommendations are appropriate and consistent with local legal requirements and Google policy.

  • Develop and provide training and guidance to managers involved in the various HR-related processes.

  • Provide guidance to People Partners, People Consultants and the business on reorganizations and restructuring within EMEA and those encompassing EMEA countries.

  • Support the development of employee relations capabilities among People Partners, Consultants and managers in EMEA through education and training. Track, analyze and interpret team metrics to provide insights on trends and opportunities to People Partners, Consultants and the business.


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience conducting and advising on investigations and disciplinary actions in an EMEA-based role. Experience in advising on a range of employee relations matters (e.g. restructuring, performance management, etc).

  • Employee Relations experience gained in either a HRBP role or Employee Relations Advisory role, or as a qualified solicitor in employment law.

  • Ability to speak and write in German fluently and idiomatically.


Preferred qualifications:



  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.

  • People management experience. Ability to listen and to convey opinions and recommendations both in writing and verbally. Effective interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy.

  • General understanding of EMEA employment law principles and an in-depth knowledge of employment law in at least one EMEA country.

  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage global projects while effectively organizing, prioritizing, and handling multiple assignments simultaneously. Effective analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to organize and analyze data.

  • Ability to establish cross-functional relationships at all levels and geographies, and to interact with and effectively influence right up to senior levels of People Operations and the broader business. Ability to travel internationally as required.
