Research and Development Scientist

Hutman Diagnostics AG is a start-up, in vitro diagnostics company, developing platforms for the detection of infectious diseases. We are looking for a curious, enthusiastic and motivated scientist.

We seek an individual, with a track record of independently development and implementing molecular diagnostic assays. The successful candidate will possess knowledge and hands-on research expertise in rapid quantitative PCR technologies, such as LAMP (Isothermal PCR), sample preparation and reagent development. 

To achieve this mission, you will work closely with a range of international partners and report directly to the Head of R&D.

Responsibilities:

• The Design and Development of Diagnostics kits, in accordance with EN ISO 13485
  


• Lead development of a Point of Care, PCR based diagnostic tool, for infectious disease detection
  


• Development of PCR assay in entirety, from sample prep to reagent development and tech transfer
  


• Create, review and edit scientific reports  
  


• Exploring and identify opportunities for Hutman’s current and future needs
  


• Collaborate as necessary with other departments, including: project management, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, Marketing and instrument manufacturers
  


• Represent Hutman at external meetings and in front of suppliers and stakeholders
  

Qualifications and skills:

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Medical degree. Exceptional Master students will also be considered. 
  


• Specialised in multiplexed Isothermal rapid quantitative PCR technologies
  


• Knowledge of sample preparation from human specimens  
  


• Experienced working within a ISO13485 environment
  


• Initial experience as a project leader in the IVD sector
  


• Team-oriented and target driven
  


• Analytical mind set and experienced problem-solver, ability for pragmatic decisions
  


• Drive and passion, with optimistic attitude towards both, project tasks and people management
  


• Excellent command of English, concise and confident communication style - written and verbal.
