Huntsman have a rare opportunity for an experienced Sales / Commercial Manager, with a strong passion for innovation and strategic management, to lead the commercial strategy and direction or key market segments within our Advanced Materials Business Division.


This is an exciting opportunity for a proven business leader, committed to driving improvements and change management, to join a Regional Leadership Team and to inspire and motivate a team of Sales Managers. Reporting to the Regional VP you will manage key negotiations and drive a standard of excellence with customers whilst promoting an innovative and creative work environment. To achieve our business targets exceptional leadership is required to maximise market share and drive success through the conversion of NPI projects into sustainable revenue streams.


Additionally, as the Commercial Director, you will:



  • Hold accountability for a large, complex sales portfolio focused on the Adhesives, Composites and Aerospace markets

  • Develop and execute effective strategies to ensure annual Sales Volume, Revenue and Contribution Margin targets can be achieved whilst being robust, flexible and responsive to changes in market conditions and our supply-demand balances.

  • Ensure the business remains adaptable to business conditions and market demands via the effective management of fluctuating sales volumes across the region

  • Lead commercial / sales negotiations with key customers and manage the Regional Working Capital Strategy  across the region to deliver tangible business results in line with our commercial strategy.

  • Lead, motivate and inspire a team of experienced Sales / Account Managers by driving change, promoting continuous improvement initiative and the adoption of new work methods in line with ever changing market demands and practices

  • Work in close collaboration with Marketing and Technology peers to  guide and prioritize new product/application requirements whilst identifying opportunities for new market penetration

  • Drive a culture of sale excellence through a high performing team culture based on key metrics and tangible KPIs to measure the financial and non-financial contribution of Business Development activities

  • Contribute to the preparation of the EMEA business strategy as part of the Regional  Leadership Team and contribute to the deployment of this strategy in the market to meet both short and long term business goals


Requirements:



  • This position requires a degree qualification in a Technical (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering) or Business discipline with experience leading regional sales teams

  • Highly driven with the ability to implement and manage a culture of sales excellence and develop his performing regional teams aligned with business strategy

  • Strong working knowledge of varying pricing strategies and the ability to develop new business through the conversion of NPI into revenue and market penetration

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to successfully negotiate key sales contracts with existing and new customers

  • Passion for customer service through the promotion of key account management duties at a regional and local level to maximise business opportunities with key customers.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work well under pressure and a passion for driving and delivering change management within a regional commercial organisation

  • Previous experience working in the Aerospace, Composites and/or Adhesive markets is required
