Senior Accountant II, International Accounting

Looking to join a dynamic team of Accounting professionals and obtain valuable international statutory accounting experience? The International Statutory Reporting team works closely with colleagues in international tax, treasury, and other departments to ensure Expedia Group, Inc.’s subsidiaries remain compliant with foreign financial reporting requirements. Our ideal candidate has a strong foundation of Swiss accounting and auditing standards, multi-currency and an intermediate accounting systems background.

This position is located in Geneva, Switzerland.

 

What you’ll do:

• Maintain statutory compliance for Expedia’s Swiss subsidiaries


• Supporting external statutory audits


• Understand US GAAP concepts and their effects on statutory financial results


• Preparing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and reviewing the P&L prior to close to ensure financial statement accuracy


• Assist in establishing and documenting new business processes and ensure these processes are communicated across the various business groups


• Ensuring all SOX controls are maintained


• Other ad hoc projects as needed

Who you are:

• BA or BS in Accounting required; CPA or Chartered Accountant required


• You must have at least 4+ years of experience; public accounting experience is required


• Ability to use accounting knowledge and previous experience to add value and assist in meeting the department's objectives while working in a fast-paced, team oriented, rapidly changing, and high-growth organization


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of clearly articulating complex processes to audiences with differing levels of understanding


• Aptitude to establish and maintain a cross-functional network outside of our immediate team to ensure strong customer focus.


• Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system


• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, functions) as well as the ability to work with large amounts of data
