To lead a business analytics team of 3 we need curious, data driven analytical thinkers with a dedication for learning and self-improvement who would like to have an impact


The team is managing key projects and initiatives globally to expand via product innovation Expedia’s footprint on the wider travel Market.


To be successful in this position, an individual needs to be entrepreneurial and able to operate with minimal guidance while owning end to end deliverables. As part of this, they will manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establish priorities, and drive delivery of high quality outputs in a dynamic work environment with overlapping deadlines and short time constraints.


Responsibilities


Partner with sales leadership to understand business needs



  • Establish trust and a collaborative working relationship

  • Understand management needs and hypothesis

  • Enthusiastically communicate factors affecting performance to senior management


Create information flows to support business execution



  • Establish and maintain accurate and robust senior management reporting

  • Assist the business decision making process by developing analytical models to size various business opportunities

  • Create compelling presentations for both internal and external customers

  • Clearly and concisely present strategic and tactical recommendations

  • Fulfill ad-hoc requests for data and analysis


Enthusiastically analyze information to help navigate the business



  • Be aware of micro and macro-economic trends and their impact on the business

  • Illustrate key business trends through effective data interpretation and visualization

  • Help drive business impact through analytical guidance and reporting

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of relevant data sources and business intelligence


Develop high performing team



  • Demonstrate teamwork

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on providing solutions and delivering results

  • Lead by example and provide on-going mentorship and guidance to a team of business analysts

  • Ensure the accuracy and relevance of the team’s deliverables


Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree in Hotel Management, Business (MBA), Operations Research (OR), Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or other technical field desired

  • Four or more years of experience in an analytical role or consulting

  • Background in travel and Internet industries strongly preferred, an understanding of Hotel and Airline analytics, Web analytics and revenue management techniques a plus

  • Experience managing projects with stakeholders based in multiple countries and time-zones

  • Demonstrated high performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence

  • Superior problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Excellent and written and oral communication skills; outstanding presentation and PowerPoint skills

  • Knowledge of analytical tools, including Excel, database querying (SQL), relational databases, Business Objects, Salesforce, Omniture, Tableau, SAS, etc.

  • Intellectual curiosity for what drives the business
