Expedia Group’s Analytics and Revenue Management group (ARM) supports the lodging organization by analyzing business trends, deriving insights, and using facts to guide the business.

We are looking for a driven, data oriented analytical person with a dedication for learning and self-improvement who seeks business impact. You will define and own Geo Analytics projects that span across the Expedia Group with high impact on our business. The team you will be supporting manages the geo locations platform and optimizes it to be more accurate and relevant to our customers searches. 

To be successful in this position you will need to be entrepreneurial and able to operate with minimal guidance while owning end to end deliverables. As part of this, you will handle various tasks and projects simultaneously, establish priorities, and drive delivery of high quality outputs in a dynamic work environment with overlapping deadlines and short time constraints.

Main Responsibilities 

• Analyze and understand the current geo mapping to find out improvement opportunities


• Query data to answer different geo related questions and actively suggest new approaches


• Provide business partners with insights to make data-driven decisions


• Build from scratch definitions and critical metrics and test the performance of the optimizations


• Communicate findings and progress to stakeholders by summarizing the findings in a structured way and guide the audience from insights to actions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or other technical field desired – Master or MBA appreciated


• Superior problem-solving skills, self-motivation and ability to work through complex business problems and partner with internal clients with a consultative approach


• Experience of working in a global matrixed environment and ability to work with teams remotely


• Intellectual curiosity for what drives the business


• Excellent verbal, written and data visualization skills


• Knowledge of database extraction languages: SQL, Big query, Hive


• Experience in working with Tableau / Qlikview and commercial databases: Hadoop, Teradata, MDX, SQL server, MongoDB
